Brokeback laser

For a little while now, greythought7 and I have made it our mission to laser somebody on Avalanche with one driving the Mongoose, and the other riding bitch with the laser. We've been attempting this for about a month without luck, but by God, we did it not once, but twice last night in one game. One with him driving, and one with me driving. They were beautiful.

Our very first successful shot. Me driving. Double kill.

Our second one. greythought7 driving. I barely clipped it, and it blew up a second later.

Outlawed Panoramas

Hello world.

Today, I show you what I've been up to for the past month. I've been forging a Hang 'em High remake to be submitted to atlas (fingers crossed). The map was originally called "High Noon." That name was perfect, but atlas will not allow any name with copyrighted content. Thus, I have renamed the map "Outlawed."

I played some test games with a bunch of people this weekend, these panoramas were the result. Enjoy.

Huzza! The internet is now fully functional. I had to call the ISP for the dorm and change some settings. So I'm back to work again bringing new panoramas straight to you! (that's right, both of you.) Enjoy.

Just like Han and Greedo, there was a dispute over who shot first, but the elite is the one who came out alive.

greythought7 (a.k.a. lucky bastard) shot this rocket off while being mancannoned, and destroyed that Mongoose moving at full speed. Lucky... bastard...

Well, my internet is out again. I'm at work right now writing this. Making this time-lapse meant uploading the screenshots to Bungie.net from home, then downloading them to a flash drive from a public computer, then bringing them home to make the panorama, then uploading the panorama from right here. Suffice to say, this has been a pain in the ass. This will be my last one at least until my internet is back up. Plus, I'm working on a map for that classic map remake contest that just went up. Wish me luck.

Here's the new time-lapse. Dodged that laser and got out just before the missles hit. Extremly lucky.

Hey there, folks. It's been quite a while. I was on Spring break for a week and the day I got back to little ol' Cheney, the Internet on my floor cut out. It's still pretty spastic right now, so I'll try to get this posted before it goes into another coma.

New Time-Lapse. My brother drove that Warthog through Hell and back, and survived.

My lucky-ass brother again. A grenade propelled him straight into that guy.

My bro and I delivering the flag. Overall, it was a good game.

I'll try to keep more panoramas and time-lapses coming in the future. I'll post them as they're made. See ya.

Mythic Panoramas

Alright, I'm back. Finals week is almost over, and in the midst of studying I've been working hard to bring you new panoramas. This time around is the mythic pack. I have to say that I love every one of these maps in their own way. The default version of Sandbox is ok, I guess. But Sandbox's true potential obviously lies in Forge. I can't wait to see what the community will have to offer, and I'm working on a little something, myself. Orbital was love at first sight. At first, I was getting confused by the radar because of the two levels, but I've outgrown that. Assembly, I absolutely hated, but now it's grown on me. I think it has massive potential in terms of objective types.

Grifball is still just as fun in the crypt.

A little busy

Winter quarter is starting to wrap up. I have exams to study for, papers to write, programs to write, etc. This entry is a little short and will be my last for a week or so. I want more to show you, but I don't have the time. I'm previewing a new style I'll be using with some of my panoramas. It's simply over-saturating some colors and de-saturating the rest. It seems to work perfectly on Avalanche. Please enjoy.

Last night, my good friend greythought7 and I had one of the best games of our lives. My spread was +9, not really spectacular, but out of my 16 BR kills, 14 of them were headshots. Being slightly buzzed, I decided to adopt the Plasma Pistol as my secondary weapon, and it worked perfectly. I had several combos of charge+melee and charge+switch to BR+headshot. I was just on top of my game the whole time. greythought7 was very impressive as well. His spread was +12 with 32 kills, he had 18 medals, 5 snipes, and 6 lasers. Basically, we dominated, and carried the whole God damned team. I wish that every game I play could be like that one.

New Panoramas and Time-Lapses

Hello again. I got some more done tonight. I'm happy to say that I'm up to a total of 60 panoramas completed. I'm loaded on Jaeger right now, so let's keep this quick.

I should have splattered that guy, but I only got his health about halfway down, as indicated by the blood spray. He then laser'd me about a second later. *sad face*

At this point, the game was 8 players against 3, but the underdogs were still fighting the good fight. This chopper was one of the three. The bomb carrier almost got off in time. Almost...

The chopper has been cemented as my favorite vehicle.

Now for the Time-Lapses

This is what happens at the beginning of every game on Avalanche.

Laser overkill. My buddy Sean did this. Not me. I can only dream.

I learned that if you smash the banshee enough, it'll blow up, but the pilot can still survive and just be ejected with no shields. I thought that was awesome.

This is what I have to offer to the Halo community. My one truly unique set of work. I first tried introducing this idea of mine to haloramics.tiedtheleader, but was ignored. I instead began sending them to halo.bungie.org, and now, I'll be uploading them here. Please enjoy.

This one is a little rusty. I created this with my initial technique of taking the screenshots in a certain way, cropping them, then letting Photomerge take care of the rest. It actually turned out very well, for my first try. I was very satisfied, and very lucky.

Number two. I made this one using the same technique as the first. I was a little careless when I took the screenshots, so when the shots were layered, I had no choice but to cut off one of the rider's heads. I was more focused on showcaseing the headshot than anything else.

This one took much longer than I expected. I tried at first to use my initial technique, but failed horribly. The subjects were too close together, making it difficult for Photomerge to allign the shots. Then someone on the H.B.O. forums introduced me to layer masking, (I am a Photoshop noob). That method worked perfectly, and made the task ten times easier. All of my subsequent TL Panoramas were made using that technique.

A little different than the others. Instead of showing a moving subject, this shot shows multiple actions of a stationary subject.

The most recent one. This banshee just had a bad moment.

I've decided to simply start off by showing my best work over the past 6 months or so. Without further adieu,

Banshee getting laser'd. This shot was one of about 50 winners in a contest on halo.bungie.org some time ago.

The final flag cap turned into a last second carrier kill.

A failed territory defense, but at least it resulted in a triple kill.

A narrow escape. The laser went through the window and barely scraped the 'Hog itself. This is one of my more artistic shots with the glass flying.

Team duels. A pair of magnums actually works quite well.

Assault on Rats Nest; a game type I usually hate, but the last 20 seconds of the game were truly amazing.

A Warthog goes down after being assaulted and pinned down by a wraith.

This is probably the most unique shot I've taken. The ghost was so close to the wall that I had to take about 30 screenshots to get the whole picture. I'm very satisfied with the result.

Getting Started

This is the start of my new blog, and I have to say that I'm excited. I've been creating Halo 3 Panoramas since last summer when I saw the Haloramics section of the TTL website. Now I'm hooked. I've created 50 Panoramas so far, and I'll be uploading them here from now on. I'm not going to upload all 50 though. Only the best of those 50 and and new ones I make from this point forward.
